CLUB NOTES - GRAND FINAL
The Year of the Tiger
Let others
lead small lives,
but not us.
Let others argue over small things,
but not us.
Let others cry over small hurts,
but not us.
Let others leave their future
in someone else's hands,
but not us.
Remember these words? I do! 2006 Presentation night….
GRAND FINAL DAY 2007 – Today we will hear the TIGER ROAR!
Well we are here! 5 years of hard work! 5 years of changing the culture around the club! 5 years of SFC working together & giving back to the community. This is for YOU the supporter,
WE ARE YOUR CLUB AND PLAY THIS GAME TO REPAY YOU - WIN, LOSE OR DRAW WE COULD NOT HAVE GOT HERE WITHOUT YOUR OUTSTANDING SUPPORT.
To the 2’s,
As Schef mentioned after the match, the appointment of Seaford people to coach the boys was a wise decision. Jason “Super” Marsh was exceptional for setting the standard from the start with his troops & Ian Boswell’s knowledge & experience was such a big bonus to the boys. I certainly enjoyed listening to him read the play! Darren “Gooch” Godkin! This man is a Seaford Sensation! Not only does he coach the 2’s & do an outstanding job with his co-stars, but @ each home game he spends in the canteen serving throughout the duration of the seniors with his kind family.
To the players, I speak on behalf of the supporters @ SFC, that you have satisfied us immensely throughout season 2007. 7-8 of you have played your 1st season of senior football & with 4-5 new players @ the club in the side, finishing 1st @ end of home & away was a very pleasing result but winning finals is what it’s all about so don’t be too satisfied with the outcome! Stick together & work towards to improving yourselves as footballers next year.
Good luck today to Steve Capp’s boys @ Bonbeach Football Club & congratulations to Brendan Long on your achievement in today’s blockbuster.
The clubrooms will be open tonight from 5:30pm onwards, win lose or draw. Might be your last chance to thank a few leaving legends of our club.
Presentation night @ Chelsea Heights Hotel October 20th. $45-Drinks at bar prices. See Rob or Lisa Edgerton for your ticket.
WHO ARE WE? SEAFORD.
HOW DO WE PLAY? HARD.
WHAT DO WE PLAY WITH? PRIDE.

CLUB NOTES - Preliminary Final
Firstly my apologies for not mentioning last week that Chris Fortnam had won the Peninsula leagues MVP. Congratulations on your award & I’m sure everyone will agree you were a very deserving winner.
Last week to the seniors a big pat on the back & enjoy the weeks rest! Use it wisely! (Avoid me) To last weeks game, PK superb when needed, Forts & both Cadds awesome, Azza Walton clearly won his match up, Deano, Old & Young Irvings well done.
To our 2’s it is pretty simple so no need to add my words of wisdom, I use my best on the Argy Bargy anyway.
Darragh was superb last week, Tommy Scott & Tav Brown were terrific as well.
Apologies for making it look like Lisa sister of Rob Edgerton were husband & wife in last weeks notes. As Jason Schefman informed me & most already know it is only a matter of time before the big announcement. Sorry once again.
The clubrooms will be open tonight from 5:30pm onwards, win lose or draw. Everyone is welcome back for refreshment or two.
Reminder to all 3198 residents, next week invite all your family, your neighbours, your friends, your myspace/facebook friends & whoever you think can come down & join in the TIGER ROAR!

Congratulations Nick Smith who today is playing game 150. I’ll leave it too his peers to mention a few words. PK-A man who plays as strong as his character. Schef-Big, Strong & powerful forward. Edgo (Team Manager)-On field he has been a great contributor & best bloke you’d ever meet off it. Luke Smith-Great team man off the field, immoveable object on it but known equally for his pace & strength.
Congratulations to Kraz on winning the Peninsula league goal kicking. Also Jakey Smith, who finished 2nd in reserves & Ash Cassap the high marking champ who also finished 2nd in the Unders.
At the league vote count our boys did a great job, with 6 players being selected in the team of the year. Congrats to Kraz being selected @ Full Forward, Big Don in Ruck, Forts ruck rover, Pat Cadd on the wing, Anth in a back pocket & Chris Irving on the pine.
To our sponsors, your wonderful support year after year is something words on paper don’t do justice. We applaud you whole heartedly and hope you enjoy the finals campaign as much as we will.
Unders-Bobby & Colts-Rusty boys both just missed out on finals but supplied us with a number of highlights with both having impressive seasons.
Congratulations Seaford JFC for another successful year. The clubs Under 12’s winning their grand final last Sunday with our own Robert Edgerton being assistant coach.

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 18
Firstly thank-you to Butch Date for his diligent efforts for past couple of months organising the 10,000 tiger draw.
Tiger’s pillow talk!
The stunning & elegant partners of our club’s 2 great leaders. Colleen Kemble & Lisa Edgerton/Schef "tell it like it is!"
What was his pick up line? C-What are you looking at d*@khead? L-Am I talking to a brick wall? Where was your 1st date? C- Movies L-Davies!! Do you have a pet name for him? C-Mate (sad isn't it) L-Moonie His worst habit? C-He eats all the Tim Tams L-Snoring!! What does he do too make you laugh? C-When he’s brutally honest (which is quite often) L-Schef is a serious man so his humor is usually accidental, like when he tripped over a laundry basket in the middle of the night, funniest thing ever! Have you given any football advice? C-No, I have given up, he tells me to stick to things I know about (he is probably right). L-Try not to head butt any of your teammates. What was the most romantic thing he has done? C-Our 1st Anniversary he organised a room in the city, I got there 1st and he came after Parker's bucks day. He had 2 glasses of champagne and passed out. I had to go the 7-11 and get a sandwich for dinner. L-Lot’s of little things… It’s yet to come, I hope. Lisa, when will Jason POP the question? Not until next year, it has to tie in with his five year plan. Colleen, Scott comes home with another hamstring injury, what do you usually say? There isn't a lot I can say, I usually just leave it to him and he talks to me when he’s ready.
All wives-girlfriends of Bonbeach please join our ladies @ halftime in the clubrooms for refreshment or two…

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 17
Rusty’s boys have played some stirring football in 2007. Friday night was another example! Under lights @ the “House of Pain” football skills & speed were in full display with the whole squad being to say they gave it everything they had. To the Colts; a big thank you for supplying the SFC supporters with terrific entertainment & look forward to seeing you supporting the club & help out with the Tiger Roar!
1’s can try & cement 1st spot with an all important task. We haven’t had a win @ Jubilee Park since rejoining the Peninsula league but hopefully when can alter that today. Great to have the Captain back in guts last week! He definitely set up the win for us when it was up for grabs.
Our 2’s must be glad to meet a side that is willing to play footy today. Guts & determination of continually putting your heads over the ball have us all pleased from the sidelines. Jimma Q-BALL Quanchi another fantabulos match & Jakey Smith setting up the win in the 1st half last week.
Unders were unable to get the result they wanted last week. Our poor kicking in front of goal hurt us more then umpire. Reminder to the supporters of the tough job the umpires face each week. This weeks clash is so important for us to gain a spot in the finals. Hopefully Muzza & Scap can continue their hot form!

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 16
Huge thank you to Mornington Football Club for their hospitality on Saturday & a warm welcome Edi-Asp to R.F. Miles Reserve.
Reminder to Edi-Asp star Josh Dent (bad luck on Supercoach) that our club doesn’t sell Strongbows, but please feel free to enjoy a Light Ice or Tooheys that the club has kept for you since your last visit.
1’s had a tough tussle @ Mton. Jarrod “Sub” Irving was fantastic, Big Don & Bomber Thompson were definitely a class above.
There is only one Dougie Falzon! This chant was heard down Main St on Saturday. The crowd was ecstatic whenever Dougie got near the ball. You could just sense that something special was about to happen. Also Andy Phillips & Pauly V were good.
Unders played with great team spirit & worked hard for all 4 quarters, but the result didn’t go our way. This weeks clash is certainly a finals type match! The Hillmen will be in full voice from the 1st bounce.
Colts are playing some super footy! Fantabulos win @ Mton. Rory dominating again! Rusty has done a brilliant job all year.
Top 3 moments @ Seaford Ball.
3. Don Epa – Can this guy dance or what! Superstar!!
2. Dougie – Floor work just as WOW like his football skills!
1. Cal Date/D5 - Having a private moment in the toilet & no-one knowing. HAHA
Worst Moment – 2 hour cab wait, 12am finish & $9 per stubby.

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 15
The players from Seaford & Pines 1987 Grand Final sides had a fantastic day. Plenty of stories were told as they all recalled their own special moments, each getting better as the beers flowed throughout the day and into the night.
The on going debate of which era is tougher took another twist, is it the 80-90’s or today’s players?! Saturday we witnessed about 80% of our reunion staying indoors for the entire seniors match. Soft is probably not the word I should use but if the shoe fits…
1’s did enough to keep top spot & that is all that matters at this stage. My standout players were Ollie, Irvo #17 & Dean Walton.
2’s played terrific disciplined footy on the weekend with Pete Azzo & Juan the stars! Smith boys Luke & Nick were excellent especially with the ruff n tuff stuff!
3’s had a strong win, with Luke Parker playing his best game of the year so far dominating all 4 quarters! Let’s hope we can bounce out of the blocks today, something we haven’t done for the last month.
Colts went so close playing a fantastic match against the ladder leaders & did the club proud! Big man Rory & Newman leading the way.
Top 3 things you can count on happening tonight @ Seaford Ball.
3. Drago losing another dance off!
2. Scotty.K & Boswell having another D&M.
1. Kraz & Nath finding themselves in TAB before night ends.

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 14
Welcome Pines Football Club to R.F. Miles Reserve.
After fantastic win against Karingal the night was topped off with some serious entertainment at 2007 Seaford Idol. Everyone came from near and far to see the best/worst local talent on display.
First act was the beautiful Liz who once again excelled with her amazing vocal skills. Brucey initially apologised to Hunter’s and Collectors, however, his energetic version of Holy Grail was nothing to be sorry about.
A feathered frenzy followed with Jules, Andrew, Two Tommy’s, Rizza & Mitch performing a Priscilla classic in full costume. Pauly, Darrah, Azza and Pete with their re-enactment of “Afternoon Delights” from the movie Anchor Man, were tremendous.
Idol veterans, The Cadd’s, lit up the stage with a hilariously brilliant performance of Fleetwood Mac’s, Wake me up, Before you Go Go. Judge Kev gave them a Touchdown and believed they should continue further than Seaford Idol.
Disha, no stranger to wearing stilettos/dress, paraded the stage to You Sexy Thing, but, unfortunately, it wasn’t when displayed to all.
Wigged larrikins Edgo, Steva, Jimma, Dylan and Stokesy told us what they really really wanted as the spice girls.
Jamaican dressed Chris Lefty took the stage, only to be heckled, performing the 90’s “classic” Sweat. Hopefully no hard feelings.
The striking Lisa Edgie took 1st place with Cher’s raunchy If I Could Turn Back Time accompanied by young sailors Jarrod, BJ and Dylan. Well Done Edgie.

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 13
Big thanks to Chelsea supporters/players for attendance in the clubrooms after the game.
Super effort to Tremaine, he was back representing the Stingrays Saturday.
Colts notched up another fantastic victory by 10 points with a fine display Saturday afternoon. We are now game & percentage out the finals but need to continue the winning feeling for rest of season to claim finals spot. Big man O’Reilly, Crump & Harris were the standouts.
Unders are back & flying! Nunn, Little Scap & Boswell were leading the way on the frosty morning. Big thanks to the never ending help from Kev Goodall for doing the job as Unders Runner then backing up for the seniors.
Great to see PK & Scotty Kemble returning through the magoo's. Q-Ball, The Tav & Disha did as they pleased the entire match to register a comfortable win.
Senior’s did it tough in the eerie conditions. The young fella’s down back, Kizza, Young Irvo & Anth (hehe) doing another superb job on a very talented/capable forward line.
After another injury plagued weekend our club should have Frankston/Peninsula Private Hospitals signed up as sponsors next year. Also I heard our trainer Rachael has her own parking spot there now! Think she might be getting a kick-back.
10,000 Tiger Draw – Only 4 weeks to go & only 100 tickets left.
Functions – Seaford Idol tonight everyone welcome

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 12
Welcome to Chelsea FC @ R.F. Miles Reserve.
Our Colts played Cheltenham & unfortunately the better side won on the day. Two games out but a strong finish will result in finals football. Usual suspects Jenkins, Jack & Harris dominating play for the Young Tigers.
With Help from Ian “Leachy” Beach;
The Unders are back! Terrific footy all day long ensured a well deserved celebration @ Boswell 18th bday bash. Happy Bday Nick! Another colt cemented his spot with Bearman outstanding. Credit to the league in the success of the Colts Competition once again.
2’s win - Drago knocked out! I think this is the 3rd time this year. Getting beyond a joke Drago, please go get some help or wear a helmet. Brendan “Brock” Miller had the ball on a string with also Luke “Spook” Smith dominating all day long. Also mention to Pauly V who handled the conditions superbly.
1’s capped off another fine performance, with Kraz, Willo & Shorty setting the win up nice & early. A special mention to Kizza Shaw doing the job when asked by coach Anth.
Moment of the day: A player from the 2’s was excited to get a game this week, his 2nd of the year, With family in attendance to watch there son finally spring into action, the lure of the pokies @ the Hastings Club took precedence over seeing the 2nd half. Harsh critics but... Barrhhh Funny!

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 11
Big thank-you Mount Eliza for coming into the rooms after the game even though they had their Club Ball on.
Saturday weather conditions brought back the style of old fashion local footy, RUFF & TUFF!
Our 1’s played terrific wet weather football. It’s great to watch our players adjust their game to suit the team & conditions. Ben Cadd played his best game of the year & with great support from Willo.
2’s are maintaining great team footy. Q-Ball (J.Q) is in career best form & is making 1’s selectors take notice. Thomas Lonie with 4 goals in wet conditions was outstanding. Commiserations go to Jesse Green who will be badly missed by his teammates for rest of season. Jason Schefman’s birthday tomorrow, all invited to his place for a couple of quiet beverages but confirm your attendance first please. Also no presents, but BYO beer & fire log.
3’s form slump continues but hopefully with the recent inclusion of some talented players from the colts will help boost the player’s performance of late. O’Reilly & Quadara were in great touch again!
Colts are on fire & are only a game & percentage out of the final 4. Crump, Newton & Jack again leading the way for the Colts!
10,000 Tiger Draw – Get a group together if needed & see Butch.
Functions – Seaford Idol July 28th. Must See Edgo/Lisa for song lists.

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 10
Big thanks Bonbeach FC for Saturday’s hospitality.
Huge congratulations must go out to Jason “Super” Marsh for his 200th game today. “Super” has been a favorite for Seaford supporters over the last decade & sets a wonderful example of leadership & dedication for his peers.
Welcome our Sponsors of 2007 to R.F. Miles Reserve in which we take on Mt Eliza FC today.
The club prides it self putting on a good show for the supporters & hopefully today will not be any different.
Mid-Season Report;
1’s have finished on top @ the halfway mark but only by percentage. You’ve seen the misfortune of some players already that have succumbed to season ending injuries. 2nd half of season is certainly the survival of the fittest. Commiserations to Dave Maurice who will join the list but on a positive it’s not a full reconstruction.
2’s are sitting 2nd. The Club has had to make some very tough choices throughout the year, now with only a handful of players missing out each week. It is pleasing to see some consistency in games week to week. Commiserations to Luke Sotiriadis on his unfortunate season ending injury.
3’s loss on the weekend has made their position in the 4 perilous. On the weekend the footy they played was hideous! But hopefully it was a good wake up call for you & in the 2nd half of season we will see the talented team not individuals.
Colts playing Doveton Sat morning came away with another win. Big Man Rory seems to be in great touch with the usual suspects Jenkins, Crump & Bearman leading the way.

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 9
Big thanks to Fston YCW Players & Supporters for coming into the rooms after the game.
1’s are on top of the ladder with Christopher Irving back to his best & Anth Agius leading the way from half-back yet again. Today’s game against the Sharks @ Cannes Ave shapes as a difficult one though, Damien Carroll’s boys will be running all day long and we should expect a similar contest to YCW last week, a rough & tough footy match.
The 2’s face a pumped up Sharks reserves side. Bonbeach’s coach may have his boys firing but we have the Smith Boys & Tavis now, big inclusions that will give our boys that extra edge. Shane Bound (BFC 2’s player) usually puts in a shocker against us & hopefully the tradition continues (Remember our bet Shinna if you lose). Cal Date played a terrific game last week & Jamie Quanchi acting as our big man was superb.
3’s need to ensure they don’t take this game for granted as the Sharks are pushing for a spot in the 4. Another honest performance by the colts as well is certainly putting Bobby's troops under fire. Lucky Sammy Lonie & Tremaine were switched on. In the Colts Tempone, Jenkins & Bearman did a great job again.

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 8
Firstly thanks for Edi-Asp FC for their hospitality @ Regents Park.
Great pat on the back to “The HILLMEN”! 8:30am supporting from the first bounce definitely gives the boys a boost.
Fantabulos function was held @ the Clubrooms Sat Nite. Pat Cadd cleaned up majority of prizes. Huge thanks to Lisa for organising it with help from Deano, Steva, Edgo & Nath. If I have missed anyone I’m sorry but I was too busy going to the eftpos machine.
1’s suffered a reality check. Donny in the ruck is in sublime form, with the old-timers Super & Anth Agius doing their best to keep us in the game.
2’s started slowly this week, but throughout the game they were constantly mounting pressure but not hurting the scoreboard. I was soooooooooo happy seeing Schef with a smile on his face after the game. He is definitely a true inspiration to the young fella’s of the club. :-)
3’s are playing some great footy. After stirring the pot with Coach Bobby on the Community Football Forum his man stood up when it counted! Matty Doyle was fantastic all game actually! Luke Parker @ CHF was also a notable change, another genius move by Coach Bobby!
Colt’s are back in the hunt for a finals spot after a fantastic game Saturday morning. Rusty had his troops firing with Tempone the star of the day.

CLUB NOTES - ROUND 7
Thanks for Mornington FC for coming down to R.F. Miles Reserve.
1’s played another solid game. Nothing I can write will be able to explain how well the boys are playing, but it all doesn’t matter if we can’t back it up against the top 3 sides! Donny in the ruck was fantastic again, giving his on-ballers first use! The 2 best players in the comp Forts & Irvo were all class.
2’s continued there high standard with a comfortable victory. Even though Schef was being his grumpy self after the game, the boys did a great job. You can’t help thinking by how far Mr. Scott-Walsh will win the B&F by.
3’s played against the ladder leaders. Great standard of footy was put on show. In what was a real test for the boys without Ash Cassap leading the way from full forward, they rose to the challenge, coming out 1 point winners. You could tell why Cruza was selected in the 1’s already this year, he tore them apart & YES Big Bobby I did take note of how many points you kicked this week.
Call of the week – Chris Fortnam doesn’t have an awesome left or right?! He just has two awesome! Cheers Parks Jnr Jnr.

Wow! What a crowd at R.F. Miles Reserve!
I was speaking to couple of the life members after the game & memories of the 80’s were flooding back.
A big thank you to Karingal FC for their turn out. Great effort!
1’s started strongly on the weekend & never looked back. Kraz started the game superbly & set the tone for the rest of boys. Donny was awesome in the ruck & Patty Cadd is in great form & will be leading the vote count in my eyes.
2’s were fantabulos! I can eat my words after my little spray at them last week. Super really had then firing at all ends. With Jarrod The Sub Irving firing in the ruck who easily made the transition from unders to the reserves. Our backline was top-notch with Jimma & Mr Scott-Welsh stars of the day.
3’s once again had a strong win. Ash Cassap with another bag of ten goals was doing it with ease, but hopefully this week he will be seeking the senior players (maybe Super) for some kicking tips. Young Boswell was dominating the clearances from the centre, you can tell that he has been watching his IDOL Scotty Kemble over the years.
Great mixture of teams socialising together on Saturday night. Big thanks to Juls (21st Bday) & family. Great night had by all (Except Drago 0-8 now).

Club Notes - Round 4
Welcome to Karingal Football Club for today’s match, I’m sure it will be an exciting day.
1’s & U18’s had terrific results in tough conditions. Colts played some great footy but just not strong enough in the end but can keep there heads high, but not the same can be said for the 2’s effort.
Colts went down to Narre Warren @ Narre, with Taylor again being a standout with great support from O’Brien & O’Driscoll. Rusty will have boys back on the winners list this week for sure.
U18’s will need to be on there toes today with the Colts breathing down there necks to get a game. Last week 1 goal 12 behinds with the wind in a quarter of footy. The whole side should be fined a $1 each for that effort including the coaching staff! Great footy by Captain Courageous & Jarrod The SUB Irving.
2’s played like individuals last week, Steva & Matty C were in great touch though. The Showdown today between the Smith Brothers in the black trunks & the Callahan Brothers in white trunks should be a highlight today!
1’s last week were terrific. Chelsea was playing great footy in the first half but the boys didn’t panic! Excellent games by Chris Irving, Super, Kraz & Forts. Today should be a great game, can’t wait to see Peckett in action!
Special Mention to Marty & Gull for there effort behind the Beer Tent in round 1.

Club Notes - Round 3
Congrats to all 4 teams on making it a clean sweep!
Well what an interesting round 2! Colts had terrific win on Friday under lights. They played some exciting football & anyone wanting to watch something better than the Ch 7. Coverage make sure you check out the www.seafordfootballclub.org website for future games. They got up by 3 points, Woolard & Taylor were the stand outs. Exciting to see another Irving surname on the goal scoring list.
The ones did enough to win the game on Saturday. Very disappointing to see Dean Kemble set to miss the next 12 weeks due to a callous incident! Terrific game by the on-ballers & backline to continue putting there body & head over the ball. Stand outs were Kraz, Disha, Cadd brothers & Dave (the only Utility left in the game) Maurice.
Great start to the season for 1st year coach “Super”. Rocket Rod finally succumbed to going bald & what a difference it made for his footy game. Well played Rocket! Also special mentions to Luke & Jake Smith! Outstanding footy all day. Also wasn’t it odd that Paul Drago spent the entire game injury free?
The unders are on the winners list which was great to watch. Ash Cassap with 10 goals was one of many highlights, but big Bobby will not get too carried away!
Everyone back to Seaford RSL @ 6:30pm tonight for the clubs match reports.

Club notes - Round 2
A warm welcome to Hastings FC Players, Staff & Supporters.
Mt Eliza made our players and supporters welcome last week and even though the ground looked like the back of Dean Polo’s head, it played well given the water situation.
With Ollie in full flight, Willo picking up possessions at will, Dean Kemble & Anth marshalling the backline the team never looked in trouble in the 2nd half.
The 2’s also had a comfortable 5 goal win with Jimma, Cal and Kurt the stars.
Commiserations to the 18’s and Colts who were beaten by Mt Eliza and Hallam respectively.
I’m sure they will benefit the hit out. The future of the club is bright, as you can see by the premiership flags in flight today.
The Bizarre Gazzard and Chicken Parma comedy night was a great success & they had the crowd in stitches all night.
Dylan Ebert learnt a hard comedy lesson that front and centre is not the place to sit.
After the game today everyone’s welcome in the rooms for match reports & the Player Auction.
There were some big numbers last year & after seeing some of the groups available this year you may wish to find a couple of mates to help you purchase a group. Details please hassle Edgo.
The players should have a little bit more leniency due to the Wives & Girlfriends of FC playing up @ the Ladies night held last night. I’m sure fun was had by all.

Club Notes - Round 1
SEASON 2007, what the committee has dubbed The Year of the Tiger, is well and truly underway. Already we have participated in four practice matches against clubs from different parts of Victoria but now the real stuff starts. We welcome all supporters, sponsors, players, parents, wives, girlfriends, brothers and sisters to the club in 2007. Seaford FC prides itself on being a family club and you are all welcome to share the warm and friendly atmosphere on offer. A special welcome is extended to new parents and players who have graduated from the Seaford Junior Football Club. Our junior club is the lifeblood of football in the Seaford community and the majority of senior players in 2007 have graduated from Norm Cathie Oval.
