GRAND FINAL NOTE 2009
100 minutes.
2 teams.
1 flag.
Today we have to:
“Put it all on the line!”
GRAND FINAL DAY 2009
Today we will hear the
TIGER ROAR!
Both our senior teams will be “Putting It
All on the Line” today! Our 1’s team who have played some exhilarating
football throughout the season realise that it counts for nothing unless a
committed, disciplined & skilful outfit turn up today from the 1st
bounce.
A tough & classy Edi-Asp team awaits & no doubt they will be
giving it everything they have to turn things around from 2008. Congratulations
to all 37 players who represented the 1’s this season including 1st
timers – Luke K Smith, Damian McCormack, Brayden Irving, Matt Smith, Thomas
Shaw, Jesse Green, Oliver Griffiths, Brendan Fortnam, & Kurt Underwood.
Our reserve side have beaten some quality sides in the past 2 weeks to give
themselves a genuine chance of achieving back to back premiership glory! Like
the seniors it will take a continuation of the teamwork, commitment, discipline
and skill that all players have shown this year to bring home the flag.
Believe in yourself fellas!
To the 18’s, Frankie has done a
brilliant job with these boys again & the Club are proud of how you have
performed & represented us in season 09. I hope you all give yourself the best
possible chance to play senior football next season by giving pre-season a fair
crack!
The clubrooms will be open after the game from 5:30pm onwards
Presentation night @ Seaford Hotel October 3rd.
We need to confirm numbers by Monday!
WHO ARE WE?
SEAFORD.
HOW DO WE PLAY?
HARD.
WHAT DO WE PLAY WITH?
PRIDE.

Preliminary Finals Note
A great night for the club at the MPNFL’s awards night,
or maybe it was more so for me as our players in the 3 grades
are still all focused on finals football.
Christopher Irving
was awarded the league’s Best & Fairest medal for the 2nd year in a
row!
Mr Irving was able to poll 3 consecutive BOG in the final 3 rounds
to win the count by 11 votes.
Congratulations also to Chris for winning his 2nd MVP & being awarded
the
Captaincy of the Peninsula Team of
the Year.
Not a bad season mate!
“Captain Courageous” Michael Kraska won the Peninsula
league goal kicking while we also had a strong
representation of senior players
in the Team of the Year.
The Peninsula MPNFL side of the year had a total of 5 tigers
and
they
were – Donny Epa being selected in
the Ruck, Krazz @ Full Forward,
Irvo Ruck rover
(Captain),
Patty Cadd on the Wing
and
a
huge congratulations to Jarrod Irving
for being selected for
his 1st time in the back pocket.
In the 2’s Vote Count, we had Jesse Green
(11),
Darragh Chadwick (10)
and Sam Lonie (9) finishing in top 10.
Well done fellas!
The 3’s had Tyson Horton finishing 3rd but we weren’t sure
if he was in contention or not after being invited to the count
but he was reported during the year.
He seemed to enjoy his feed though!
Good luck to our 2 sides
on Sunday.
Lets hear the Tiger Roar loud
and
proud!
Let’s make sure we show the umpires some respect,
which seemed to be forgotten by a fellow
President
@ the Vote Count on Monday night.
Back to the rooms tonight for the after match reports.
Starting at approx 5pm.
Presentation Night – Oct 3rd @ the Seaford Hotel.

Irving Wins Robert Harvey Medal
Chris Irving has won the Seaford Football Club senior
best and fairest award in 2009. The 22-year-old capped off a stellar home-and-away season
by winning the Robert Harvey Medal for the third time in four years. Irving, who represented the VCFL in a state interleague match earlier this year,
played 17 out of 18 games in 2009.
The reigning MPNFL best and fairest winner kicked 27 goals for the year and was named among
the best players 10 times.Irving finished ahead of fellow midfielder
Aaron Walton who was rewarded for his outstanding year with the runner-up award.
Walton, a 22-year-old tough and classy player, featured in all 18 games and
was named in the best players nine times.
Other players to poll well included full forward Michael Kraska, who kicked 84 goals for the year,
ruckman Daniel Clarke and midfielder Patrick Cadd.
Shaw Takes Out Award in First Year
Thomas Shaw has celebrated his first year of senior football by winning the reserve best and fairest award in 2009.
Shaw played 14 games in the reserves and kicked 32 goals including two hauls of six against Bonbeach and Pines. The 19-year-old was rewarded for his good form throughout the year with two senior games.
The win follows Shaw's
2008 U18s
Best and Fairest award.
Midfielder Jesse Green won the runner-up award after playing 13 games in the reserves and four in the seniors.
Green featured in the best players seven times in 2009. Darragh Chadwick,
Andrew Date and Mitch Finn were also among the top vote earners.
CD
Tigers Note Round 18
Firstly a big thanks to Robyn/Digger & Co @ Karingal FC.
I’m sure all our supporters had an enjoyable day especially with
the good natured banter between both clubs.
Fingers crossed the Colts were able to move on to
the Preliminary final from the last ' Night ' performance which was held here under lights. Hopefully this should help set the scene for an exciting day of football.
Seniors - It has been so exciting to see some of the younger members take the next step this season! Jarrod Irving must beclose to securing his ' Team of the Year ' selection,
Lukey “Bondi” Smith has been nothing short of superb -
especially for a boy straight out of the FDJFL,
whilst at the opposite end of the scale you have
Jason “Super” Marsh putting in another dominating
display with his dukes & his super boot!
It will be a close Vote Count this Sunday (23rd) –
My tips for the top 3 are:
C. Irving, J. Irving, and either A. Walton or J. Marsh
Reserves - For the 1st time this season we were able to come
from behind to secure a gritty win against a very spirited Bulls outfit. Whilst we can’t control where we finish on the ladder we will
need to be at our best once again to ensure victory against
the Redlegs is achieved.
My vote count late mail is
J Green, M Finn & T Shaw/D Chadwick.
Unders - Liam Davenport played his best game of the season
along with Pete Murphy & Cameron Gates.
Nice time to find some handy form with finals just around the corner. Congratulations to Ollie who made his debut for the seniors.
My tips for B&F;
O. Griffiths, by the length of the Flemington straight, then between Doyley/Crumpy & Joshua Jenkins.
Best of luck to SJFC. You are all welcome to attend Sunday’s Vote Count here @ RF Miles Reserve after your matches.
10k Draw tonight in the rooms. Some tickets still available.
Vote Count – Sunday 23rd August @ 1pm SFC rooms.
D5
Tigers Note Round 17
Thanks to all the Pines Committee/Players/Supporters
for coming into the rooms after the game for a drink.
The 1's have been able to take
Top Spot back but no
doubt
it will take 2 huge wins in the last 2 rounds to ensure it stays
that way.
Karingal we meet this week & it seems that our boys
seem to struggle @ the Bull pit in the past.
The guys need to be up & about from the 1st bounce
as the Bulls are fighting for 5th spot as well.
Well played to Joshua Stokes & Super. It
is very pleasing to see
Forta’s name back on the best players list as well.
The Magoo’s worked hard for 4 full quarters again! We still sit 4th
but as long as we keep winning we are in charge of our own destiny.
The Bulls will be hard today @ home. Hopefully
Mitchy,
Azza T &
Darragh can continue to dominate but more importantly we might have
some luck with the injuries side of things.
The unders slowly worked their way into the game last week. In
the end they had a very pleasing win.
Ollie was back from
injury & dominated from the 1st bounce. Fingers crossed
for Harley Parker that
his leg injury is not as bad as 1st predicted. 3
Ambulances in our last 3 home games would suggest that Metro Ambo
service should start sponsoring the club. Hopefully we can have a
change of luck with injuries in all 3 grades.
Well done to SJFC
Under 12 Blacks, Under 16’s Yellow & Blacks.
All 3 sides hung on by less then a kick.
Good luck to the Under 13 Yellows this Sunday.
For anyone wanting to know further details see a committee member.
Social Scene – 10k Draw on 22nd August after Mt
Eliza game in the clubrooms.
23rd Sun August will be Vote Count Day @ the Rooms.
Spit roast provided which will start approx 1pm onwards.
D5
Tigers Note Round 16
Thanks to Deidre & Brett (Cappuccino van) for supplying me with the
shakes on Saturday! I couldn’t resist the Lattes @ Jubilee Park,
they were an absolute treat!
After years of trying, the 1's finally managed to come away
from Jubilee Park
with the 4 points. The guys showed a lot of character after
being headed in the last quarter to steady and boot the last couple
to win. Chris &
Jarrod Irving were exceptional - with great support from
D-Mac, Kano,
Benny D,
Tavis and Walts who all
played their part. It was an important win that keep us in the race
for top spot!
The Magoo’s kept their top 3 aspirations alive with what
could have been their best effort of the season so far. After
blowing a chance to ice the game last week, the boys never panicked
this week when they were nearly headed 5 mins into the last quarter.
Great games from Tommy Shaw,
Jakey Smith & the
Chief (B Forts).
Unfortunately a few mistakes were made on the entry of best players
but that sometimes happens!
The unders & colts were very brave in defeat on AH Butler
Reserve (different ground from Seniors & Reserves match for some
reason). Playing the top sides in both grades together with having a
depleted list didn’t stop both teams showing the hunger required to
put in a brave showing.
It seemed a great night was had by all last Saturday @ the
Ball! A ripping crowd turned out to kick up their heels with plenty
of fun to be had. My 3 votes for Best on were awarded to:
1.
Frank Tobin
2.
Donny Epa
3. Clare Barry –
if only Deano could learn
how to relax & party
like his beautiful partner Clare.

A very special thank you to

for their generous donation.
Well done to the Colts &
the Seniors for their
fantastic victories
on the weekend!
Patty Cadd &
Damien McCormack
did as they pleased for much of the 4 quarters whilst
Young Cooky was one of
the stars of the show in the
Colts match.
A huge game for all 4 sides as we meet the Stonecats this week. It
will be a tough task as
Jubilee
Park has never been a
happy hunting ground for the Tigers!

The Seaford FC is helping raise awareness and contribute to the
fight against the Big “C”. All players today will be wearing yellow
armbands in respect to all those men who have died or are currently
battling Cancer. “Call to Arms” donation boxes will be found at the
outside/inside bar & canteen. Please help support the fight!
Seaford FC is currently sitting 6th on the ladder for the
Top clubs
with amount raised. It would be fantastic to finish in the Top 3.
FYI – by donating you'll fund:
· Life-saving cancer research
· Education programs to reduce the number of men that get cancer
· Support services for men facing tough times.
The facts
about cancer
1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer by the time they turn
85. More than 62,500 Australian men are expected to be diagnosed
with cancer this year. While cancer is one of the leading causes of
death among Australian men, around one third of all cancers can be
prevented through healthy lifestyle choices.
Excluding non-melanoma skin cancers, the most common cancers facing
men in Australia are
prostate, bowel, melanoma and lung cancer. Prostate cancer is more
common in men than breast cancer is in women.
Well done to Christopher Irving!

with a terrific turnout for “Seaford Idol”.
Big thanks to Lauren, Sheridan, Jarrod, Edgo,
Judges (Leach, Normy, Lisa & Marty)
Nev, Brad & Gull for
your efforts helping out on the night.
The 1st Club win came from the
Colts boys who put in
their best display of the season on Friday
under lights @
RF Miles Reserve! Playing
the un-defeated Stonecats most people would have thought
the Young
Cubs would be up against
it but someone clearly forgot
to tell the players! Gatesy,
Bursky & Dyl Hatfield were some
of the stars on the night!
SFC
had 3 terrific wins on Saturday @ Cannes Ave, each side had to work
hard for all 4 quarters but in the end all teams
were able to get the 4 points.
PK
has announced his retirement from playing football. The
SFC will be forever
thankful to Paul for his

Tigers Note Round 12
Firstly a huge thanks to Chelsea
FC for their hospitality throughout Saturday. A special mention also
to the number of supporters who turned up for the match reports @
the Seaford RSL as well.
It is always very important that we support our local sponsors
at every opportunity.
What a thrilling contest we all
witnessed in the seniors match.
SFC started brilliantly outscoring the opposition in the 1st
qtr against the breeze but the fun ended there for the next half of
footy. Chelsea totally dominated
the midfield & if it wasn’t for our defenders (senior citizens)
efforts from PK (playing
his 100th) &
Scotty K the end result could have been a totally different
scenario.
The
2’s have strung together
a few wins but the next month of football will give us a better
indication of where our boys are headed. All too often the
Magoo’s can’t seem to
find any rhythm for more then a half
of footy which will be
unacceptable as we meet other top sides in the weeks to come. It was
very pleasing to see Juls,
Darragh & Hopsy back to their dominating best.
The
Under’s were slow out of
the blocks against an improving
Chelsea
outfit, but luckily it didn’t take too long for them to hit their
straps. It may have been the inspirational goal from Crumpy who
somehow slotted one thru from the carpark that helped kick start
a dominant 2nd half display.
Unfortunately our Colts were let down again! Another forfeit
prevents our Cubs from developing their football for another week.
Maybe the league could ask the Casey Colts team who have a bye if
they are available for a game in the future.

Back to Seaford RSL for the match reports then it’s to

PK is to Play 100th Games

3 Paul Kennedy

10 Ben Cadd
Seaford FC has another player milestone to announce.
This week we have Benjamin Cadd
playing his 100th
match.
Here is a little tribute from your playing group.
PK –
Ben was one of the players responsible for
Seaford’s revival.
He was assistant coach in the tough days and has in Scotty’s absence
been a great captain.
His clearance work and tackling
sets the standard for most of our victories. When we lose he is
always our best player, which says a lot for his character.
His marking and handball are underrated. He is at his best when
he is marking around the ground. Off the field he has become a
professional
through hard work and persistence.
And his wedding this year was another great milestone.
He will be a fine father soon… Well done Ben.
Shorty
–
The guy you need running out with you each week, tough,
courageous
and the barometer of the team.
Azza Walton -
Congrats Ben on 100 games I have looked up to you over
a lot of
those games (only because I am shorter)
Great to have you around the club on and off the field,
well done on a great footy career (old timer).
Cheers Benny!
Dean Walton
–
Since returning
from his stint at Frankston VFL
Ben has been a valuable contributor week in week out.
From a supporter’s point of view, Ben is often seen and not heard
and lets his footy do the talking. Ben has won many awards
over the years including B&F’s and would be regarded as
Seaford’s Mr Consistent, very
rarely plays a bad game.
From all the supporters and SFC Committee of Management,
congratulations on achieving 100 games.
Scotty
-
Benny is a loyal clubman, a natural ball winner and
has a great footy brain. His courage and leadership on the field is
second to none.
Off the field Ben is one of the funniest blokes I
know especially after a few ales.
Just ask any of his team mates.
Congratulations on 100 games mate

Saturday’s ladies

A big thank you to Jane Marshall for organising
the event.
The 3rd Annual
“Seaford’s Pillow Talk” edition -
This year we have Amelia/Luke Smith (A) & Clare/DeanK Barry (C)
giving us some very
amusing inside gossip on two supposedly
“Hard Tough Men” of Seaford.
Where did you meet?
C
-
In primary school; he
used to come to my house to
play play-station with my brother.
A
-
Bonbeach FC. It was Toffs, Tarts
Transvestites night.
Luke had a low cut dress, leather jacket, runners white socks,
and a white bow in his hair and drop pearl earring in his left ear.
He was a sexy lady man.
If
you could change one thing?
C
-
Absolutely nothing, he is my dream boat!
A
-
I would either make him a millionaire or stop him from snoring
beer and bourbon breath at me after a big night!
What was his opening line?
C
-
He was too shy to talk to me so he used to throw sandwiches
and fruit at me instead.
A
-
Wanna Drink?
What’s his pet name?
C
-
He has a few, ‘shazlick’
, ‘muffin head’, ‘baby cakes’.
A
-
Atm I enjoy calling him 'Pig' but normally its 'Mol'
His worst habit?
C
-
Farting – he never stops! He thinks he is hilarious!
A
-
Watching TV constantly. Sometimes he will have all 3 TV’s
on
in the house at once (sometimes different channels even).
It drives me insane. If he had it his way
he would even sleep with the TV!
Any advice for his football?
C-
Sometimes I try, but he gets really angry, tells me to stop
talking crap, to go cook or go shopping or something girlie.
A
-
Hell no, I know nothing about the game to even comment.
Good luck Irvo in his 100th match
on Saturday.
See Seaford Newsletter/Website for some sterling comments
from his teammates.

Firstly my apologies on forgetting to mention
Christopher Irving’s
selection for the MPNFL interleague side.
I’m not sure how that
happened but to make up for it I’m pleased to announce that
Christopher Irving didn’t only just play for the interleague side,
he absolutely smashed it!
Chris was awarded the Best on Ground medal on the day and now he
has also been invited down to Victorian CFL team training.
Well done
and good luck Christopher!
Well done to all 4 sides on the weekend against the Bulls & Dogs
(Colts).
A fantastic result for Marty’s boys who were able to knock off the 2nd top side.
Even though it was a great team effort, it was the future senior
Tigers of Golding,
Sloan & Tognazzini who
did the damage on the day.
Frankie’s
troops seem to be back firing & playing an exciting brand of
football at the moment. Ollie
looks to have stretched his lead in the B&F with another best on
performance. Crumpy &
Doyley did as they pleased for much of the match. Hopefully the
young Cubs can put together another 4 quarters against the Redlegs
today where previously we have struggled
at Wooralla Road Reserve.

Tigers Note Round 8

Jeremy ' Short Man ' Walker
Saturday 13th June match marks a special
occasion for one of our favourite Seaford
FC sons.
It will be Jeremy “Shorty” Walker’s 200th
match.
Here is a little tribute from your playing group mate.
PK – “Jeremy has shown more courage than most to
achieve
all he has. He also has more skill than he is given credit for.
Keeps changing to adapt, and underestimated ability. “
Irvo – “200 games! Massive
achievement, along with 2 flags
it’s a stellar career. You have got there through sheer
determination and grit but you wouldn’t want it any other way,
cos you have displayed true Seaford Spirit throughout your career.
Enjoy it mate, well deserved.”
Kraz – “The kind of bloke you want running
out with you every Saturday.
Fearless, inspiring & unselfish…
Congratulations mate, well deserved.”
SKemble – “Shorty is well known around club for his in and
under bulldog like footy, one percenters and endeavour to win
every contest.
Every week Shorty is against the biggest
challenge on the field, his opponents are generally a foot taller
than him, to his credit he never backs away, he thrives on the
challenge.
Shorty is a very important player to the senior
team,
he does the team things that don’t get noticed. He is the first one
to lay a big tackle, put on a shepherd and he always runs straight
at the footy no matter who is in the way (team mates inc).
That’s just the way the Short Man plays and we all love it.
Congratulations on your 200th mate.
A true Seaford Champion.”
Congratulations to all our representatives

Paul Kennedy was rewarded with the Head Coaching job,

rather disappointing loses to the YC boys on the weekend. Both of
the Under groups let their opponents establish match winning leads
in the 1st quarter & couldn’t get themselves back into
the game. One of the highlights from the Unders was
Brayden Irving’s return
to the football field
which will definitely add a bit more strength to the Unders outfit.
To the 2’s game, Umm there wasn’t many highlights from this game.
Actually the main highlight that comes to mind is the final siren
blowing to end another dismal performance. The guys who could hold
their heads high include
Datey,
Sammy Lonie, Chief,
Andy &
Pauly V.
Well done to the seniors
on another impressive team performance. I must say though I think it
is a let down with
Chris Irving
being able to convert so many set shots @ goal lately! Settle down &
start passing it HOG!
Congratulations to Joey &
Bec Hallal who have
announced recently they need to add some baby wall paper & furniture
to their home. Well done guys!

Colt Round 6 vs Frankston YCW
Tigers Note Round 6
Firstly thank you to Dennis &
his hard working crew for their hospitality last Saturday and we
extend a warm welcome to Frankston YCW for
Saturday’s
games.
In what was my 1st chance to see our Colts in action this
season I wasn’t let down with the annual wet & windy conditions @
Main Street, Mornington. Five years we have been in this comp & 5
years it has rained @ Mornington. It was still very pleasing to see
a huge crowd to turn up though considering the conditions. All
supporters who braved the conditions were treated to 4 terrific
footy games from both sides.
Our COLTS suffered a lost
to ladder leaders but were far from disgraced. It wasn’t until after
halftime that the top side took total control. Many future prospects
coming from the Junior Footy Club were gallant in defeat. Young
up-coming stars, Rhys
Cuthbertson, Justin Thompson & Shaun
Oliver were fantastic all day long.
The UNDERS were brilliant
from the 1st bounce, which is something that has been
missing lately. The leadership group dominated throughout the 4
quarters. Rory (Captain),
Doyley & 1st year player
Tyson Horton were
terrific but it was the courageous play of
Oliver Griffiths that
stood out for me. I would be very surprised if he isn’t leading the
vote count at this stage.
To the 2’s game, if it wasn’t for the hard work of
Tom Shaw,
Pauly V, Captain Smith &
Datey I would hate to
imagine what the score could have been. Hopefully our boys can
recapture some of the early season form this week on OUR home deck!
Well done to Ant’s boys. Another solid performance but once again
led by the younger stars of the club in
Jarrod Irving
& Luke Smith with a mix
of some quality football from our clubs wiser heads of
Normy, Super &
PK.

Round 5
Tigers Note Round 5
Firstly thank you to Edi-Asp FC for their hospitality on Saturday.
Our 1’s are struggling with injuries at the moment but not many
supporters would have known when checking out the results Sunday. It
had a lot to do with our younger brigade of
Jarrod Irving
& Tim Smith who just
continue to impress, but the standout for me was the game from
Aaron Walton. I think
young Azza would have been pushing the 200 point barrier on
Supercoach his game was that impressive.
Our 2’s are also struggling with injuries but that definitely paved
the way for some of the players missing out of late to impress &
continue to develop their football. The leadership from
Pauly Vyverberg across Centre Half Back had a major influence on the
game. Matt Smith,
Jesse Green &
Pete Azzopardi in our engine room continued to give our forwards
first use on most occasions. A great finish highlighted by a
fantastic grab by the big man
(Matt Smith) who then calmly went back & kick truly after the
siren to tie the scores.
Well done Matty!
The Unders continued on their merry way against the Eagles but
just like the 1’s & 2’s the Mornington ground has never been a happy
hunting ground for the Cubs! A fantastic game to
Dougie Watterson & our
leadership group of Ollie Griffiths & Brad Doyle helped the boys come back from a 3 goal
deficit at half time to snare a 20 point win!
The Colts had their 1st official win on Friday night (8th
May) & what a way to bring up the 4 points with a 19 goal winning
margin. I’m spewing I didn’t out bid a few of
“Hillmen” @ the player
auction as it seems their Junior Club background has given them the
edge when selecting Sean
Burks & Luke Jones, these young lads
were very impressive again.
Welcome home to the Date
boys. It will be good to have you both back out on the park soon.

Round 4 "2008 Grand Final Rematch"
Tigers Note Round 4
Firstly thanks you to Bonbeach FC for joining us in the rooms after
the game. Our 1's are purring along at the moment but today will be a
big test! Facing Edi-Asp at Regents Park hasn't always been a happy
hunting ground but no doubt it will be an exciting contest with another
shootout expected! Hopefully the form of
James McCormack & Tim Smith continues as the Eagles are a young, slick &
skilful outfit.
Our 2's had a hard fought victory last week against the Sharks but today
will be our biggest test so far! The eagles are un-defeated at the
moment so you would expect both sides will be looking to stamp their
authority nice and early in the season. PK has the backline working
nicely, Aaron Turner's hard work over the preseason should have him
clear in the B&F at the moment but we will need Thomas Shaw & Reece
Hunt's dukes on song to get over the line you would think.
The Under's have had a solid start to the season but it took a while for
the young cubs to switch on last week. Muzza & Harley Parker were
terrific targets up forward but the backline led by Dyllan Jack were
superb. Certainly a lot better than the performance later on during the
evening, it just proves you should just stick to playing football.
Players Function Night - The Buddy Night is on tonight but besure to
meet at the RSL for match reports by 6.30pm. The function will kickoff
about 7.30pm. Light finger food will be provided and plenty of music,
testosterone based shenanigans and most likely an awful rendition of
" The Holy Grail ". There is certain to be embarrassing moments so it's
not to be missed!

Round 3 Smith Shield
Life Members Day
Smilebox
Tigers Note Round 3
Well done to all 3 teams on
their wins on the weekend against
Chelsea.
Thank you to the
Chelsea FC supporters who braved the arctic conditions on Sunday.
Saturday 2nd May,
we welcome the past stars of
Seaford Football Club to our
annual Life Member’s day!
I hope you all have an enjoyable day as it should be a ripping day’s
football against our neighbours,
the Bonbeach Sharks!
After
the game make sure you all make your way into the rooms and get involved
in the Player Auction, it
will commence immediately after the seniors enter in the rooms.
For those who aren’t aware there have been some dramatic changes
to the clubrooms over the last couple of weeks. None of this would have
occurred without the assistance of some very kind
members/parents/supporters &
players. I would also like to add someone’s name that wasn’t
mentioned in the acknowledgments from Thursday night. This person played
a very Very VERY BIG part facilitating the renovations! I can’t imagine
how many hours behind the scenes that
Club Sec, Dean Walton spent
on this project in addition to the countless duties required as the
secretary. Within 2 weeks Dean
was able to organise & ensure completion of the rendering to the rooms,
new walls additions, new light fixtures, our new Club Admin office &
having a brand new canteen! WOW!! I’m sure this would impress the
Backyard Blitz crew!
Thanks very much Deano!

Club Function -
Reminder to all players that the Buddy Karaoke Night will be held
on the 9th May in the rooms.

Tigers Note
Round 2
A big thank you to Langwarrin FC for the hospitality last weekend.
Congratulations to the seniors on a terrific win 1st up!
New coach Ant Agius’s & 1st
time Captain Michael Kraska (9 goals) have started on a positive
note. Well done to Luke Smith
(16 years old), Jesse
Green & Damien McCormack for making their senior debuts for the club & a
special mention to young defender
Jarrod Irving
who has worked tirelessly over the pre season to regain his spot in
the seniors.
The 2’s battled hard against a very hard working opposition & were
able to notch up a victory. The stars of the match were
BJ &
PK but it was also enjoyable to watch
Thomas Shaw & Matt Smith
play very well after coming up from the 18’s. Also congratulations
to Wayne
(Poppy) Mataiti on playing his 1st game of Aussie
Rules! Well done mate.
The 18’s jumped out of the blocks slowly @ Lloyd Park. A slow
start had the Cubs trailing by 9 points @ the 1st break
but then held Langwarrin to only 2 goals for the rest of the game.
Doug Watterson 1st
game for Tigers was a brilliant one but he had great support from
all his teammates.
My apologies to the Colts notes for this week after not being
@ the game at all Saturday
it was very hard to find a fixture let
alone a scoreboard details.
