Scott Kemble ( Cpt )
Success is something that can be measured in many ways, and by many
differing variables. It can be measured by statistics, numbers,
attributes, achievements, percentages or money. The recent
success of the Seaford Football Club I believe can be attributed
to one key determining factor – people.
People like Scott
Kemble.
Scott has epitomised
what the Seaford Football Club is all about. Loyal, tough, hard
working. It is with these traits that Scott has played his
football, led his football club and community, and in many
senses lived his life.
Of all the challenges,
controversies, great wins, bad losses, losing Grand Finals, and
Premiership at Seaford over the past decade, there has been one
constant – Scotty. His commitment to the Club has been
unwavering.
With the club at its
lowest ebb at the start of the new decade, a young, skinny
wingman with curly hair put his hand up to lead the club out of
the doldrums, and help form the cornerstone of a new era. He
provided, and continues to do so today, the link between the
club’s elder statesmen with the growing number of talented youth
filtering through from the Junior Club down the road.
On the ground, Scott
has been fierce competitor. Cutting his teeth early in his
senior career on the Grandstand wing, Scotty developed a
league-wide respect and appreciation as a highly skilled wingman
who was rarely defeated in one-on-one contests. A hard, but fair
player, a natural ball winner with sharp pace and an equally
impressive engine. After battling soft-tissue injuries over the
past 3 years - ‘old age’ according to Scotty – he has
re-invented himself as a premiership winning Centreman, bringing
to the centre square the same ball winning ability, hardness and
fierceness that has frustrated the competition for the best part
of 10 years.
Scott has been great
leader, strong and forthright, yet not boisterous or
over-bearing. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and if a young
kid playing his first year at the club cannot learn from the way
Scotty goes about not only his footy, but also his life, then
they are not listening or observing, and inevitably wasting
their time.
As long as Scott
Kemble is involved with the Seaford Football Club, it will
always be viewed as a successful place. |

Scott Kemble is selfless and inspirational. His performances in
big games and finals will make him one of
Seaford’s greats. Led the club from despair to
elation and is the longest serving captain after being appointed
at just 21.

Scott Kemble / Cal Date
are
the very essence of what this club
represents both on and off the field, they
are both young men that I could see hold
important roles further down the track
within our Executive, and would feel safe in
the knowledge the club is in good hands,
congratulations Scott & Cal on your
milestone.
